We left Woodward at about seven this morning and headed to the airport to drop off kids. After waiting at the airport for what seemed like an eternity, we headed to our final destination. I am appalled at the hotel we get to stay at. I was thinking it would be an inn, regular hotel, but this is a HOTEL!! The rooms are awesome!! Or at least it seems that way. Maybe I am just used to my room up at the lodge that is equipped with two bunk beds. Maybe...NAH!! This is the life!
We stopped by what will end up being the US Open (when the surfing and stuff actually starts) and got to hang out for a bit with Jack and Katie at the Woodward booth. Even got to skate the mini bowls next to the main bowl that's to be used for the Coastal Carnage. After all that, Jack, Katie and I hit the beach and swam/drowned in the waves, while Cassandra did homework back at the hotel.
Last time I got to go to Huntington was in 08 for spring break. It was kinda cold last time and I didn't go near the water. This time it's summer, the weather is perfect!! I love it here!! I never want to leave!!
After swimming, we all went to the Aloha Grill and had what was to be Cassandra's and my second meal of the day (more than 12 hours later!). I had the teriyaki vegetable stir-fry. It was SOOO good!! I was starving and then I was stuffed. It was great!!
