I love these two songs. I've been listening to Merle Haggard radio on pandora lately. I get to listen to stuff my Merle and Johnny and Waylon, and Willie and every once in a while, they'll play new stuff by people whom I've never heard of. I heard 'Lodi' first by Jeffrey Foucault while listening to Pandora today and I fell in love with it. Right after 'Lodi' played, 'Whiskey' by Trampled by Turtles came on. There's a verse in the song that goes "My home is with the hills and trees around me, my ceiling holds the moon and stars above. So I'll never be a lonely man a'walking. I'll never live one day without love."
It makes my heart yearn. I want to travel and not be stuck anywhere - ever. I just want to go and drive and feel the wind and get sunburnt and eat different food and wake up after going to some local bar and having a blast and experience everything there is to experience in life. I want to meet strangers and hear about their life. When I work, I want it to mean something. I don't just want to have a job that gives me an income. I want to do something I love. I don't want to spend my life wishing I did. Anyway, they're both great songs.
