I'm back again!

Don't fret! I'm back! I've been m.i.a. for the last week or so and I know I've missed some pretty important deadlines on my blog. Like Snapchat Saturdays and Musical Mondays. But I have a great excuse!! I WAS AT WOODWARD!! I know, I know...you're jealous. But never fear! I'm here to update you!

Okay...so let me begin by saying that this trip to camp, for the most part, was amazing. I'm pretty sure that the last time I had this much fun at camp was when I went for my very first time. I had a blast! With that being said, getting to and from camp was terrible. I will never, EVER take a greyhound bus from Arizona to California again. So many delays, horrible customer service, so many gross smells, uncomfortable seats and the list goes on. Definitely an experience, never doing it again.

Anyway..before I started working at the pizza place I work at now, I told them I'd be taking off for a week or so to go out to California. I didn't know if it would happen for sure but I wanted to have the option of going. They were totally cool with it and told me they wanted me trained before I left, so that I would be ready to start working once I got back. Super stoked they were that cool about it and that was what ultimately made me decide to take the job. I thought about the trip, the pros and cons, kept looking at flights out, and in a moment of either complete bravery or insanity decided to go for it. I booked my ticket to Arizona and decided to figure out the California part when I got closer to the date I wanted to be at camp.

My friends and future roomies, Laila and Chrissie, picked me up from the airport and took me straight to Venezia's. During the few days I spent in Arizona, I had the chance to go to school and talk with people there about admissions stuff, go cliff jumping in Prescott with new friends, hang out in Flagstaff, and just hang at the Concorda Cottage. Every time I get to visit Arizona, I instantly feel at home.

Chrissie and I bought our tickets the day before we left and had high hopes for the trip. Our bus was scheduled to leave around 8 but left around 9. The lady that checked our baggage was kinda sorta rude. Uh-oh. I think by this point we started worrying a little. Turns out the bus has bathrooms. And these bathrooms smell horrid. Like week old piss. Imagine the subway, in New York, three times worse and for seven hours straight. Thats what we had to deal with. It was terrible. By the end of the trip, I sorta felt like crying. I was so tired and I couldn't sleep well because of the smell. Whenever I'd start to doze off, I'd catch a whiff and was instantly awoken. Fortunately, we got a ride from LA to camp from an old camp friend and it didn't smell like piss. We were covered in dog hair, but dog hair is much preferred to piss.

Like I said previously, camp was so freaking good. I got to skate (as much as I can without annihilating the rest of my ACL), eat camp food, play pool, hang out with the girls that were there for girl's week, see and hang out with old friends, play in the talent show (only took five years..), eat s'mores, and just enjoy camp life. I never wanted it to end. I think that if I ever get the chance to go to camp again to work, I'll try to be an OSI. The week really reminded me of my first summer, where I was just there to enjoy camp. Sure I had to work a bit here and there and wasn't getting paid, but I didn't have to worry about all the stuff you have to worry about when you get paid. Even when I worked there, I noticed that the people that got paid were more stressed than those that didn't. But yeah, camp was a blast. Bawled like a baby as soon as I said goodbye to the last person. Felt like crap as soon as I left. If I get to visit again, I'll go for two weeks. I didn't even get to go to Denny's!!

The trip back to Arizona was brutal. You'd think it can't get worse than smelling piss for seven hours, right? Wrong! So wrong! Try having to wait at the Bakersfield station for six hours on a Friday night, getting stuck in traffic and then having a four hour delay in Los Angeles at three in the morning. We left Bakersfield around midnight, were scheduled to get into Phoenix at 9:30 am and ended up getting there at 2:30 pm. Thankfully, Laila greeted us at the bus station with donuts from Bosa, a trip to Joe's italian ices and a dinner party for that night.

Then I got on a plane at 11 pm that night to get to Florida at 8 am Sunday morning...

I like saying that I'll never do it again, but if the only way to go to camp was to do this all over again, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Okay, enough story time. I know you guys just come for the pictures..
Aren't they just the coolest looking roommates you've ever laid eyes on?!

We went to the mall in Scottsdale. They were giving out treats in Anthropologie. Chrissie doesn't know what to do about the macaroons!

They were delicious! I believe the hype!

On Friday morning, we went to ASU to figure out admissiony stuff and found this chalk wall.

On Saturday, Laila, a couple dudes I'd never met before and I headed up to Prescott, grabbed lunch and went kayaking and cliff jumping.
Here's the back of Sean's head. I got to sit in the middle of the kayak and just relax while the boys did all the work. Being a girl is nice..

Pretty!! I don't actually think we were allowed to swim. We did anyway.

Here we are before deciding where we would jump. Kyle is wearing a t-shirt. Jon isn't...

Let the camp fun begin!! Notice how I didn't include pictures of the bus travel? You would've cried with me. (Not that I actually cried...)
Just lounging in the coffee shop!

I promised I wouldn't but my roommate is a total babe! Just look at that pose! Such style!

Buzzy!
Camp haircuts!! I love these boys!

Deer! Or should I say 'Doe'!?

Cool kids on bugs.

On Chase's day off we headed to Bakersfield/town for a day of Freddy's, laundry, mall walking, board buying, skateshop lurking, pizza eating, mountain sitting, and bug driving. It was fun.
I helped Chrissie and Chase pick out boards at Zumies. Yeah...I said zumies. I'm a chump. Feel free to unfriend me.

We ate pizza on a mountain. On the side of a mountain? We didn't actually hike. We just drove up there.

Chrissie measures her tattoos in coins. I kid. She wanted to see if she had enough for a soda. I just thought it was a funny way to count coins.

Beautiful Tehachapi sunsets. Oh how I miss you..

If you sit here at night, you can see the stars. I love it. I wish I would've spent more time enjoying it. I'm telling you, one week is NOT enough time!

"I went to camp and all I got was this swelbow!"Around the second or third day I got pretty comfortable skating again. Obviously not to the point where I was trying hard new things but to where I was able to try silly things. I was stoked on this. It made me feel like a skateboarder again. Corny..I know. Swelbows don't make you a skateboarder. Duh! But I missed them. I named him Ralph.

Guess what movie this is from!!

Angela!!! This little girl is super rad. She's all sponsed by the Pink Helmet Posse and plays the drums like nobody's business. I hope to be as cool as her one day...

And then we left...
Look at those beautiful faces!! Take me back to caaaamp! I have a feeling I won't be missing camp again for many summers to come. (As long as I get hired, obvi!) I just miss it way too much. The kids are rad, most of the people that work there are rad, the environment is rad. Buhhh! Can I go back now?!

This was in Blythe on a 30 minute pit stop on our way back to Arizona. It was my last time skating until August. I left my board in Arizona. Part of my decision serves as motivation to go back for it and part of it was laziness to have to lug it through the airport.

Mom/head roomie/Laila greeted us at the bus stop in Phx with donuts from Bosa. I am 105% positive we looked pretty rough when she first saw us. Definitely served as a pick me up before heading to Joe's to get italian ices.

Musical Mondays

Remember how last week I was a day late? Well not this time! This week, for your listening pleasure, I have for you a song by The Tallest Man on Earth called Revelation Blues. Easy listening so you can day dream on this beautiful Monday morning. (or afternoon. I don't know. I half expect you to be clicking the refresh button on your browser, just waiting for me to update on Mondays.)
"Sometimes roses die too young." That's why, when I have a boyfriend or husband, I want him to bring me pizza. Pizza doesn't die. It might get old or stale but nuke it in the microwave for a few seconds and you have a perfectly acceptable slice of pizza. Or some coffee. Or just a cutesy poopsy handwritten note. Yeah, that'd be nice too. Okay here ya go. Enjoy:

Someone keeps +1ing my posts...I don't know who you are, but thanks?

Tonight. Was. Amazing.

So remember how I said I wanted to go see AJJ play? Welp, I went and saw Andrew Jackson Jihad play at Backbooth tonight! Let me just say that this was the best show I've ever been to! I've been to good ones, but this one was just really really fun. I was super indecisive the whole day about whether or not I wanted to actually go so I waited til the very last minute to try and buy my ticket. Little did I know, they stop selling the tickets online a couple hours before the show begins. I got ready as fast as I could and headed out there to see if they would be selling them at the door. They were and weren't sold out yet! I was stoked and ended up having an amazing time. (My mom had a blast, too. At one point she said, "This is real life." Which, when you think about how english isn't her first language, translates to, "Is this real life?" Yes, mom. Yes, it is. ) My arm already has a bruise from when I got moshed into a wall. Fortunately, there was a bigger dude there with his girlfriend who was about my height and as he protected her from getting squashed, he also protected me. So here are...A couple photos... I tried putting up a video but it won't let me!

So yeah, if you ever get the chance you should go see one of their shows. With your mom.  (They're mom approved. Can I say 'mom' one more time? MOM.)

Snap Me Saturdays!

NEW! NEW! NEW!

Sometimes I get funny snapchats (which I of course screenshot) or pictures from friends, ya know via text and what not. Saturdays, I'm dumping 'em here. So get ready and enjoy! AND send me stuff!!

 I'm sure you did, Pat.

 Mexico swag? From Paula.

Cassie/pizza selfie from a while back.

Laila sent this one. This log was seriously bug infested. Huge ant like bugs crawling all over the place! Such a fun time exploring though.

 Cheetos anyone? from Paula.

Paula sent this. What a jerk.

Sent to me by Chase. I met this really nice dude at Tempe park.

Collin from Logan. I miss these dudes so much. I can't wait to see them.

This made me miss camp more than I can express in words. This was my first summer at camp and I was standing somewhere on the sidelines thinking about doing the death race. After I saw Kryger almost die, I decided not to. I don't think it's called the death race anymore..I also don't think anyone ever got pulled back that far again. I could be wrong. I've just never seen it done again. Then again, for the last two summers I missed almost every single skate activity..

Endless Love

Have you heard or seen previews of the movie Endless Love? The preview that makes you think it's some type of horror movie...

Well I can now tell you, after watching it, that it's not. It's actually a great movie. I laughed. I cried. A bunch. It's funny how a video that's just shy of two hours can make you bawl like a baby and give you that butterfly feeling you get when you first meet a boy and make you relive the whole experience and in the end make you feel happy but sad at the same time...I think I might have been in love once. And by 'think,' I mean 'know.' And time and distance...pshh! They don't heal anything. So whoever said that was totally wrong. Because whenever you think you're done thinking about so and so, some dumb song comes on and that's the first person you think about. And whenever you flip the the channels some dumb commercial comes on and BAM! there you are again; just thinking about that one person you're trying to forget. But no matter how much you try and want to forget, you can't. Because at the end of the day you still wonder what they're doing and hope that they're okay.
It's all funny and confusing. Life is funny and confusing. Or maybe just weird. We're only here for so long and in that time we're kinda expected to find the one person that we want to be with for the rest of our existence. I guess a hundred years could be considered a long time but in the scheme of things, it's actually super short. And I mean I guess you could be with more than one person at a time, but you'd have to check with the first person you were with and see if they're okay with it. (I'm just helping you out so you don't run into any hiccups)
This is such a weird post. I'm high. Just kidding! I don't do that. But if I did this probably would've still sounded the same. Because that's what love does. It makes you say things that make absolutely no sense to anyone even yourself.

Happy Belated Musical Monday

So I didn't do Musical Monday yesterday, but I have a great excuse! I was busy. And then when I wasn't I was just so tired. Pitty me. I kid. But here it is! Sorry to all my loyal followers who thought it would be up and kept checking for my musical selection.

Anyway..this week's selection is Kokopelli Face Tattoo by Andrew Jackson Jihad. These dudes are playing this weekend here in Orlando. I was really planning on going. With my mom. But I'm still thinking about it. Don't get me wrong, I KNOW it'll be a great show but at the same time...finances. Such a lame excuse to not go to a show! I might just say "fuck it" and go and just not spend those three bucks on coffee for a few days...drink homemade coffee.

The first time I heard this song, I played it 10 times in a row, give or take. It's just that good. Great song. Great band. And I'm thinking great show. If you live in Florida, come see it with my mom and me this weekend. You won't regret it. You can meet my mom.

More Arizona

I have so many pictures on my phone that I just keep looking at but don't know what to do with. So this is what I'm going to do. Every once in a while I'll post them on here. It'll be like my way of saying I'm excited for Arizona, without having to say I'm excited.
This was my second day in Arizona. Lux coffee shop in Phoenix.

I'd only known Chrissie for about half a day at this point.

 Miss ya, Pops!

 Roof hangs

The first all white Jamaican bobsled team for worms.

 Roof read.

 Roof view

Cinco de Mayo was pretty great

 Best morning cuddler

 Lost Dutchman dinner

Roof tans. Ignore my face, look at Chase's.

Buddies!!

Oak Creek hike. About a week ago, there was a huge fire up in these mountains. It's sad to think that so much of this gorgeous view is damaged. It's even sadder to think that this was probably caused by people.

Take me back! I didn't notice the butterfly up there until now.

Monday is a day off

Monday...usually people don't like them. I, on the other hand, am beginning to really like Mondays. My dad doesn't work, I don't have a steady job yet so we got to hang out as a family. This was my first monday in a very long time where I didn't have school or homework or have something that I needed to get done. It was really nice to just be able to be present and do things with my parents.

My mom's car needed a few parts so we got up relatively early and headed to the junk yard. I really like the junk yard. It's amazing to see all theses broken down vehicles and think that these were once in someone's garage or on the road. Some of these probably had names at one point. If you looked around the junkyard and picked parts from a bunch of different cars, you could probably get some of these to work. So much waste. So much oil and grease.

My mom's first time at the junk yard. She wasn't too stoked on it. I guess it didn't really help that it was really hot out. Here she is trying to catch some shade.

 I found a trunk..

We found a few of the parts we needed. After a few hours of walking around in the soupy air, we were famished. We headed to golden corral. I think it was the first time in a long time we were able to go out as a family. It was cool. It brought back nice memories.
So much for eating healthy. Also, fried okra...real good!

Pretty much sums up their relationship

While we were at Golden Corral it rained. My dog is terrified of rain and thunder and she always looks for a way to get under something or behind something. We always leave the back door open for her so she doesn't pee or poo in the house. It might not have been the best idea on that day. We were all food drunk and half asleep when we got home and realized that she was nowhere to be found. We split up, got into separate cars, and started around the neighborhood looking for her. It turned out that she ran to the house that she always runs to when she's scared of the rain. This one pretty much sums up their relationship. I missed them.
