Solo Night Adventures

I love hanging out with friends. One of the biggest reasons for me moving to Arizona, other than just loving it here, is to be with friends that I've grown to love and trust. But as much as I love company, I also really enjoy solo time. Sometimes you just need to be by yourself and be quiet and reflect on stuff. In Florida I don't get much solo time except for drives to and from school. Boy do I cherish those drives!!
So tonight I got some of that as some of my roomies went to mill, one went to bed and the other went on a non date. Guess what I did? I went grocery shopping!! I realized I'm sort of broke and I'll need to be thrifty for the next couple weeks.
So, half a mile down the road there's a Safeway. For my non-Arizona friends, that's a supermarket kinda like Publix or Smith's or Shoprite or Albertson's or Winn-dixie or...the list goes on. Imagine your favorite grocery store, and that's what it's like.
Anyway...I walked there, did groceries and walked back. Pretty uneventful but pretty cool to see how different things on the street look at night and how void of people every place of business is.

 Palm tree. Oooo. Ahhhh.

Shiny street signs when you use a flash...

Big cacti you can barely see. They look kinda eerie huh?!

Another rad afternoon

It was a pretty rad afternoon. Pretty much like everyday, but different things were done. Chase had a final in the morning so I went to art school with Chrissie. The art rooms are cool and they even have a little art exhibition. Pretty rad, pretty rad. While waiting for Chase to get done with her final, we went to Tempe Marketplace to look for shorts for Chrissie. We found hats instead.
You have to be choosy when picking out a hat. Kinda like when picking out a boy.

At one point in the day, we didn't know what we were doing because plans got changed at the last minute. (*cough cough*) Chrissie, Chase and I ended up taking a ride in Bruce (the stang) and heading to Tempe park. We sung many songs and had a blast, both at the park and in the car. I've never really liked Tempe park. I feel like it's big and intimidating and at times there can be a lot of people that just kinda stare. Anyway, it was a blast. I met a friendly fellow skater, it wasn't packed and it was smaller than I remember.

Gettin' it!

Tempe park!

After skating, Laila (head roomie) cooked us all dinner and dessert. It was delicious. Spaghetti squash, sauces, bread, and homemade chocolate donuts with sprinkles. So good!

Celebratory homemade, chocolate, sprinkly donuts!! OMG!

As we tried to insta the donuts, Chase came out in a towel. My camera was ready. Sorry Chase!

Also, 'Brink.' Need I say more? We watched it tonight. I used to have a huge crush on the main guy and this movie actually made me want to rollerblade. Which I did. Terribly.

Arizona update

Well, Arizona is still Arizona. Lovely. Warm. Great.

Laila was going I give Popeye a shower and ended up not being able to because the drain was slightly clogged. With hair. Ew. But I thought this picture was funny.

We went to Freddy's last night. Now, for those of you that know me, you maybe know how I feel about eating meat..Well, I had a steak burger and a Chicago dog. It was gooooood. I haven't had a hot dog in like four years. It was tasty.

We also went to Tempe town lake. Chase, Chrissie and I took my board and took turns skating around. It was a fun, mellow night.

This morning Chrissie and I went to ASU to finish this project she had to do...

This is the lithography room. Coooool!

Summer exhibition artsy stuff.

Chrissie's a model.

Also, I'm part of the Concorda Cottage fam bam. So that's cool.

My roommates are really rad. I feel like its pretty rare that you like all the people you live with, when you didn't pick them.. Does that make sense? A little over a week ago, I didn't know two of the girls, that I now feel like I've known forever. It's rad. We hang out pretty much all the time and there haven't been any fights or misunderstandings..nothing! 'The real world' lied to me..
The other night after our little cinco de Mayo party we headed to In n Out. Chrissie doesn't really have two heads..

Yesterday, after Laila and Mo got off work, we all packed into one car and headed to the wedge for a cool little skate/picnic/hanging out session.

Pizza picnic!
Laila was laughing so hard she almost peed! What a great group of ladies!

Chrissie is pretty much a model. Ow ow!

Isn't she pretty?! The boys hollered at us when we left..

Roomie movie/'Friends' night.

Late last night we headed to the park to do some swinging.

I made Chase a pizza princess phone case.

Laila is amazing at baking. These were waiting for us when we got home one night.

Arizona sunset. Pretty.

Need I say more?!

In other news..Cassandra got stung by a hornet and now has a chubby finger! I'm glad we still keep in contact. We pretty much FaceTime everyday! I'm not usually very good at long distance communication. Getting better..
Chubby fingers..

Okay, so listen to this.. two dudes I'd like to meet before I die are Bart Jones and Jamie Thomas. They just seem like super funny dudes and they skate which is also way rad.

Everyday I'm in Arizona, I'm reminded of why I want to move here. The mountains, the weather, the people, the freedom. It just keeps getting better.

Went to the Phoenix art museum earlier this week. A lot of artsy stuff was looked at.

We pretended to be cool for a bit and hung out in a record store..

Downtown Phoenix has rad art everywhere!!

We went to Lux, in Phoenix, the other day. Arizona has so many great coffee shops. Be forewarned: some super hipster hangouts don't have sugar.

The wedge! This park is definitely my favorite. I'll probably skate somewhere else this week, but this one...yes.

The other day, there was a photo shoot going on at the wedge.

First Fridays with new and old friends! First Friday is pretty much a street fair with a bunch of artsy places showing artsy things.

Umm just look at those palm trees!

Sleepovers are always awesome.

Popeye's really taken to me. Which is cool. He's a pretty good cuddler until he decides to cuddle with your feet...

Popeye, you're not a cat! Get off my feet!

Tall man's dream

So, this really happened today. I don't really know how I feel about it. Compliment? I'm taking it as one..

Chase won a party pizza from Venezia's on twitter the other day and we picked it up today!! Who said social media was a waste of time?!

Tears of joy were shed.

Look at that deliciousness! So much pizza!

It's bigger than me!
Pretty sure this is why I gain weight everyone I come to Arizona..

After endulging in delicious pizza, we climbed up into the roof for our nightly roof sesh.

Pretty Arizona sunset! Either we don't have sunsets like this in Florida or I just don't pay enough attention.

Scaredy cat coming down!

Well, the semester's over. Good? Bad? Not a clue yet. But what I do know, is that I'm super happy to be done for a bit. I haven't slept in the last 38 hours and I gotta say, I'm beat! I definitely need a break.

Ask and ye shall receive!

I'm in Arizona now, and saying that I'm happy and excited would be a huge understatement. I wish I knew words to accurately describe how I feel right now. Getting off the plane, all I could think about was how much I love it here.

First things first. Venezia's. Oh, how I love thee.

Rooftop parties are always the best!!

Meet my bunkmate! His name is Popeye. He's a cuddler for sure!

Stoked and super ready for a bunch of adventures! I'll keep ya posted!

Venezia's favorited my post.
