Great Day!

I went skating today for the first time in about a month and it was soooooooo much fun! I had a blast! I couldn't go to the skatepark by my house because it was raining so I went to Metro, this little indoor park that is super fun! My ankles are no longer in pain which is the best feeling ever! I use to think that mid tops were the best shoes, but I have come to realize that my Converses which give me absolutely no ankle support are probably the best shoes I've ever had!!
Anyway, back to my day...I tried one kickflip and almost landed it! I sweat alot! I got in for half price because the guy was closing up early!  A kid asked me if I was sponsored which is totally rediculous, but talk about an ego boost!! Some other kid thought my name was Amy, which I thought was funny so I just went along with it! It was an amazing day!On the half hour drive home I listened to this song over and over on full blast!

Me: I'm going to go up to the roof and take a picture of the cool sunset. If I scream come find me.

Bert: No! Don't!
I ended up not going up to the roof. I tried, but once I got up there I noticed the roof was pretty unstable. How did I come to this conclusion? I went to transfer from ladder to roof, pushed down on the roof and part of it came off. I'm pretty glad I didn't just go for it. I probably wouldn't be typing this right now. I debated trying to get to the middle of the roof without really putting my weight on the edge of the roof, but decided against it. I have school tomorrow!

Pulling away part of the roof.

So tomorrow, if there's a pretty sunset, I'm going to climb up to the top of a billboard sign not to far from my house and take a picture of said pretty sunset. All for you!!

Charles Manson - Home Is Where You're Happy

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, “What does love mean?”
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:
“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.” Rebecca- age 8
When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.” Billy – age 4
“Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.” Karl – age 5
“Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.” Chrissy – age 6
“Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.” Terri – age 4
“Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.” Danny – age 7
“Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss” Emily – age 8
“Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.” Bobby – age 7
If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,” Nikka – age 5
“Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.” Noelle – age 7
“Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.” Tommy – age 6
“My mommy loves me more than anybody You don’t see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.” Clare – age 6
“Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.” Elaine-age 5
“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.” Chris – age 7
“Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.” Mary Ann – age 4
“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.”  Karen – age 7
“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.” Mark – age 6
You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.” Jessica – age 8
And the final one — Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbour was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, “Nothing, I just helped him cry”

Last night..

..I had a dream that I moved to beautifully warm Phoenix to stay at my dad's, ate alot of Venezia's as soon as I got there and then went to Tempe Park. I woke up, realized I was still in Florida, got bummed and went back to bed.

And then I dreamed that all my teeth were rotting and falling out of my face because I was only eating fruits and vegetables. I had to wash my teeth with baking soda and toothpaste to keep them from falling out. It was scary.

Although Florida's still all sunny, it's been getting kinda chilly lately and when it rains it gets even chillier. Last night it was so cold so I ended up sleeping all huddled up under a blanket, in jeans and a hoodie. I froze. So today I'm pulling out this baby!
It's a Heat Rave!! Keeps me from turning into a Lorena popsicle.

It's only going to be 74 today!

Dr. Dog - Keep A Friend

Well, I'd pawn my heart if I thought you'd break it. Sell my soul if I thought you'd take it. But every smile and conversation lets me know that you're only in it for love.
Cut muh bangs today...

.. after suffering jury duty for seven hours.

On Tuesday I went and did laundry with the bro...

...and found out Little Caesers has pan pizza!
Two months down. Seven more to go.

Running Time!!

Lately I've gotten in the habit of running in the mornings. I like it. It wakes me up and gets me all energized for the day. I used to dread running and now I feel like I need it. I just wake up, drink a whole bunch of water, put my contacts in, put my hair up, grab my ipod and run out the door. I've never had running shoes, don't plan on buying a pair and since my mom has a few pairs I have adopted a pair of hers.

What's my mom's is also mine!

My brother played this song today and at first I didn't know what to think. Halfway through I fell in love. JK...kinda. I like the song. It makes me dance. My brother and I were eating dinner in the kitchen listening to this song and we were both dancing around. It was fun!

Hearts!

My little brother had a minor heart thing a couple days ago. He was in miami on one of his business trips and right after making a sale, he noticed his heart was beating super fast, his left arm went numb and he was getting really dizzy. Not knowing what it was, they called up one of the company's bosses, who had experienced heart problems, and asked him what they should do. My brother was told to go to the hospital and get it checked out. My brother went and his experience was nothing pleasant. In short, the people at the hospital took forever to start to treat him, tried to take money out of him by telling him that they needed a $250 deposit while they were sedating him, and didn't do the necessary tests. My brother got pissed, ripped all of the sensor thingy cords off, discharged himself and walked out while he was all weird and groggy from the sedatives. So now he doesn't know what was wrong with him.

The Thermals

I could be having the worst day ever and listening to a song by The Thermals will make me 50 bajillion times happier or I could be super happy and the same thing happens. I don't know how they do it. I get all tingley and excited and start dancing and singing. I wuv da Thermals! I don't really have a favorite song by them. All of them are great! Although, there are a few I like more than others. Here they are!!

I had another dream..

My ankle was busted and I was on crutches. I went to this restaurant called El Paisano where they sold awesome Mexican food. My brother got tacos and I ordered the pizza and it was amazing!! It had a whole bunch of veggies on it and it was soooo good! They had an alley in back of the restaurant where they had a fun DIY skatepark. The restaurant had financial difficulties and was going to close down and since no one wanted to see the skatepark go, people spread the word and the restaurant got packed!!  There was also a car place in the restaurant where they did tune ups and oil changes and tire rotations. I ate all my food and then went home where my brother locked me in the garage, where upon seeing it was empty we realized we had walked home and left the car back at the restaurant.

Then I woke up. This is why you don't watch Diners, Drive-ins and Dives before bed. You dream about food and restaurants all night.

Job or No Job?!

I got a job offer and after being all excited for about five minutes I realized I don't really want nor do I really need a job. I have no bills, I have no debt (except for a student loan), I never pay to go skate anymore...so I don't need money at all. I could :
  • Take the job
  • be miserable for the next few months
  • be super busy with school and a job
  • have no time to skate
  • forget AZ in the winter but...
  • have money to go to AZ during spring break
  • meet a whole bunch of new people
  • make money
  • have money saved up for next summer
...or...
  • Not take the job
  • just keep going to school
  • relax and skate when I don't have homework
  • go on bike rides everyday
  • forget an AZ trip all together
  • and deal with being completely broke next summer.
Decisions, decisions. Not taking the job seems like way more fun for now, but taking the job seems much more...grown-up, responsible, smart? Bahh. I'll sleep on it and decide how I feel in the morning.

Maximum Procrastination!!

I wish I could say that I did everything I had to do today. I wish I could say I used my time wisely and finished my 3-7 minute speech on Italy and read and studied the last three modules in sociology. I wish I could say I finished my essay for composition and submitted it online like I should've done. Unfortunately, I actually can't say I did any of those things. I took a bike ride today though! and went to school! and took a nap! and did a little bit of homework! and even got to play video games!!
Really old game boy? Check!

I have a whole bunch of cool games. Jealous? You should be!

Maybe tomorrow I'll actually get all my homework finished. At least I hope so...

White Stripes - Hotel Yorba

I listen to this almost everyday when I go on a bike ride. This song is one of my favorites at the moment.
A few days ago, I sat on the floor in a corner of Barnes and Nobles and read this whole book. It was hilarious. I don't think I've ever read a funnier book.

In it she says a whole bunch of things that alot of people probably think, but don't come out and say. One of my favorite lines in the whole book was this one.
You probably can't read it. Or maybe you can. Either way, I'll tell you. It says,"P.S. You know who does have a funny bone in her body? Your mom every night for a dollar." HA! That was part of her response to someone that written a comment somewhere saying she didn't have a funny bone in her body.

Blayze!!

 This is my buddy Blayze!
I think if you hang out with kids, there's always that one kid that ends up being your favorite. This kid is definitely my favorite. He's the cutest, funniest, goofiest kid on the face of this earth!! I miss this kid like crazy. I haven't seen him in over a year. He's so big now. Last time I saw him, he weighed about 30 something pounds and I was giving him rides on my shoulders. I'd hang out with him and his brother at wrestling practices and tournaments and give both of them rides home everyday. I'd take a trip back to Utah just to hang out with this kid for a day.

Busted!!

No more headphones!!
I was going on a bike ride yesterday and was getting ready to listen to music, when I felt my head phones give. I was so bummed. This is the fourth pair of headphones I've gone through in less than a year!

Peaceable Kingdom

I watched this today. It is one of the most heart-wrenching films I have ever seen. Really makes you think alot about the abuse animals go through. I watched this in tears.

Wilfredo Vargas - El Baile Del Perro

I don't know why, but last night I was thinking about this song and how I hadn't heard it in such a long time. When I was alot younger, I lived in New Jersey and alot of Sundays after church, the whole family would pile into my dad's little red Toyota Tercel and go to Elizabeth, a town that was maybe 30-40 minutes away. We would go to Twin City, a supermarket that had a deli type area where they had prepared food. We would get so much good food! My favorite was sweet fried plantain, black beans and white rice with a pony malta. We would also get these cookies that had a drop of strawberry jelly in the middle. I can't remember what they were called, but they were so good! Haha anyway..on the ride there we would listen to a tape that had this song on it. My brother and I would request this song over and over. It's kinda corny, but it's a good song!
